Art Rental for the White House Set:

Historic Landscape Paintings for Rent & Portraits for the Presidency

The White House has many rules for interior décor. Design decisions are foremost questions of preservation.  There is actually an advisory committee charged with the preservation of the White House, in addition to the home and principal workplace of the president of the United States. The president appoints the advisors for their experience in historic preservation, decorative artists, architecture and scholarly background. In turn, these advisors restrict the personal – and permanent – changes the POTUS can impose.

Key parlour rooms you see in documentaries, movies, and film, are the captivatingly luxurious Red Room, Blue Room and Green Room. These spaces serve as time capsules, preserving history throughout presidential terms.

This Committee for the Preservation of the White House was created by executive order in 1964 by President Lyndon Johnson. The Committee works alongside the White House Historical Association in making recommendations on acquisitions for the permanent collection and provides advice on décor or architectural changes.

All this to say, First Families can’t make big changes without approval from two committees. Presidents can’t even reupholster furniture without permission.

Recreating the White House for film requires access to historical landscapes and portrait oil paintings, presented in gilded frames.  We used our artwork to recreate the illustrious Green Room as captured by the virtual reality tour. We compare our selection of original historic landscape paintings for rent to the paintings in the permanent collection as protected by the White House Historical Association. Check out our full list of historic artwork for rent!
