Rufus Art Rentals offers you the largest selection of original, handmade artwork in Vancouver. Each and every piece of original art is copyright cleared. Unlike other rental houses, the majority of our artwork is made by human hand. Various media is available for art rental, including oil paintings, historical portrait paintings, sketches, drawings, sculpture, abstract art among others. We began developing our vast collection of original artwork in 1986, when our parent gallery started working with motion picture companies.

Original Paintings
As a division of the Petley Jones Gallery, hundreds of new paintings are added to our art rental inventory each year. Our inventory includes acrylic, oil and mixed media original paintings by artists living in British Columbia and beyond. There’s no limit on what styles of paintings we provide. This includes works from artists living now to those who painted hundreds of years ago. One such example is the “Murder of Arthur,” whose artist was born in 1765! Spectacularly detailed, this small oil painting is available for art rental.
You can find many unbelievable treasures in our warehouse. Never sacrifice the authenticity of your design vision. If you want something from the 1700s, we are happy to oblige.
Sculpture Art Rental
Fine Artwork sculptures in our collection often display in our gallery on Granville Street before becoming available for rent. When not in an exhibition, we rent sculptures of bronze, marble, steel and even mesmerizing glass towers.
Shockingly, a piece of our three-dimensional artwork made national news when one of our rentable bronze sculptures was stolen in 2019 from outside the gallery. A 250 pound sculpture by Fahri Aldin was wheeled away on a dolly in the middle of the night. Luckily, the sculpture has since been recovered. You can actually rent the stolen sculpture, if you wanted. Of course, there are dozens of other artists and media to try… some that don’t have a criminal history.
Contemporary Art Rental
Embracing bold material choices and artistic approaches, contemporary artworks are produced in the second half of the 20th century or in the 21st century. Renting contemporary artwork in Vancouver means you have access to some of the best Canadian artists on the market.
In her studio space in Vancouver, local artist, Barbara Arnold, uses mixed media to pull you into her paintings. Slowly the work reveals complex textures, with subtle floral embossing. Barbara is currently producing artwork for rent in her studio space at our art warehouse. Personal studio visits can be arranged for art rental or purchase.
1700s – 1900s Historical Works
Rewinding back before the introduction of film, photography or digital screens, we find the historical paintings, often created with luminous oil paint.
In the local film scene, our business is best known for our selection of historical artwork. Oil paintings from the start of the 18th century comprise the bulk of our selection, with over 900 artworks. Recently, a Set Dec team recreated the parlour rooms of the White House using our historical landscape paintings of North America.
Of course, we don’t forget the gilded frames! Our online catalog makes a point of showing you the gold frames around artwork, presenting the historical paintings as they truly hang on set. Golden frames with ornate details inspire elegance, a time of tradition, and opulence.
Landscape Paintings
At the time of publishing this article, we have 550 artworks of landscape paintings alone. Choose from hundreds of iconic natural scenery such as mountains, valleys, trees, sky, rivers and forests. Our landscape paintings capture natural scenery in a single, timeless moment, from many countries and regions.
